ITINERARY
DAY 1 DELHI
Upon arrival in Delhi you will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight is in Delhi.
DAY 2 DELHI
A full day of sightseeing around Delhi is scheduled. Overnight is in Delhi.
Day 3 DELHI - DIBRUGARH
This morning you will go to the airport for your flight for Dibrugarh. You will arrive Dibrugarh
by the afternoon and transferred to your hotel. Overnight will be in a bungalow on a tea
plantation
DAY 4 DIBRUGARH
This morning you will proceed on a tour of a tea garden to see the origin and the history of
tea, how it is grown and its culture .Visit a tea factory to observe the full process of
manufacturing of CTC (Crush, Tear and Curl) tea. Return to the tea bungalow for lunch. In
the afternoon you will visit Mancotta Tea Estate, known for traditionally producing the fine
orthodox variety of tea. Evening is free for optional activities. Overnight at tea bungalow.
DAY 5 DIBRUGARH - GUWAHATI
Early in the morning you will take a ride through a tea garden on horseback or by car. After
a short ride you will return to your bungalow, and then transferred to the airport for your flight
to Guwahati. When you arrive in Guwahati you will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight is
in Guwahati.
DAY 6 GUWAHATI - BAGDOGRA - DARJEELING
Early morning visit to Kamakhya Temple, one of the most venerated Shakti shrines in India.
The Kamakhya temple is a major center for Tantric practices and a good specimen of
Assamese sculptural work. Later in the morning we will visit The Tea Auction Center, the
largest auction center for CTC tea (subject to tea auction occurring during the visit) and
Tea Brokerage Firm to know more about tea tasting and its quality. Later this day you will
be taken to the local airport for your flight to Bagdogra. When you arrive in Bagdogra you
will be driven to Glenburn Tea Estate for a tour of their gardens.
DAY 7 DARJEELING
In the morning you will tour Glenburn's facilities. End your day with a tea tasting session,
where one can discover the differences in aroma, flavor and appearance of tea
manufactured in different ways, and during different times of the year. The session also
includes tasting teas from other parts of India and the world. Overnight at tea bungalow.
DAY 8 DARJEELING
Rise early to go to Tiger Hill to view the sunrise which is one of most exhilarating
experiences one can witness. Later in the morning you will be driven to Darjeeling to visit
The Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Everest Museum, and Padmaja Naidu Zoological
Park where you can see Snow Leopards, Red Pandas and Tibetan Wolves. In the
afternoon, take a short toy train (Darjeeling Heritage Railway, a "World Heritage Site") ride
from Darjeeling to Ghoom Railway Station, the highest railway station to be reached by a
steam locomotive. You can visit Ghoom Monastery and then return to your bungalow.
Overnight is in Darjeeling.
DAY 9 DARJEELING - BAGDOGRA - DELHI
In the morning you will be driven to Bagdogra airport to board your flight for Delhi. Upon
your arrival in Delhi you will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight is in Delhi.
DAY 10 DELHI
You will be taken to the airport or station for your onward destination. Tour ends.
