ITINERARY
DAY 1 MUMBAI
On arrival in Mumbai you will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight is in Mumbai.
DAY 2 MUMBAI - BANGALORE
Your first stop from the bustling metropolis is the Elephanta Caves found on Gharapuri
Island in Mumbai's harbor. The caves date back to 600 AD and form a carefully
symmetrical collection of shrines, courtyards, halls and porticos all carved out of solid rock,
and filled with intricate sculptures of Hindu gods and goddesses. In the afternoon, you will
be transferred to the airport for your flight to Bangalore. On arrival you are taken to your
hotel.
DAY 3 BANGALORE - MYSORE
Today affords you an opportunity to explore this multifaceted city. Later you can be taken
to Hampi, a strange yet beautiful small town with ruins of an ancient Hindu kingdom that
eventually fell to its Muslim neighbors. Afterwards you will be driven to Mysore. Overnight
is in Mysore.
DAY 4 MYSORE
Mysore is the second biggest city of Karnataka, but is undoubtedly its cultural heart and
soul. The day is free to explore everything Mysore has to offer. Overnight is in Mysore.
DAY 5 MYSORE - NAGARHOLE NATIONAL PARK
You will be driven to Nagarhole National Park where you will stay at the park’s
accommodations. You can take an evening jeep safari through the park to view the various
animals in their nocturnal activities.
DAY 6 NAGARHOLE NATIONAL PARK
The whole day is spent at the park with morning and evening jeep rides to view the game
and free time to stroll around and enjoy the lush environment. Overnight is in the park's
accommodations.
DAY 7 NAGARHOLE NATIONAL PARK - MUDUMALAI
Today you will journey into another of India’s National Parks, this time at Mudumalai which
is situated in the foothills of the beautiful Nilgiri Range. Overnight accommodation is at the
park in a forest rest house.
DAY 8 MUDUMALAI
Another great day to view the resident wildlife. Expect to see many elephants since this
park is home to India’s largest population of wild elephants. Overnight is in Mudumalai.
DAY 9 MUDUMALAI - OOTY
This morning you will be driven to Ooty, the south’s premier hill station. Overnight is in Ooty.
DAY 10 OOTY
Today is free day to relax and enjoy independent activities in this beautiful and calming
setting. Overnight is in Ooty.
DAY 11 OOTY - COCHIN
You will be driven from Ooty to Cochin and settle into your hotel for the night. Overnight is
in Cochin.
DAY 12 COCHIN
This morning you can tour the city with its diverse blend of monuments, shrines,
synagogues and churches. Cochin is a city of peninsulas and islands and traders have
been visiting its natural harbor for centuries. Overnight is in Cochin.
DAY 13 COCHIN - KODAIKANAL
A morning drive to Kodaikanal is planned. The rest of the day is free to relax in this scenic
hill station situated in the Pali Hills.
DAY 14 KODAIKANAL
The day is free for independent activities. Overnight is in Kodaikanal.
DAY 15 KODAIKANAL - MADURAI
Today you will be driven to Madurai, an important cultural and commercial center that was
designed in the shape of a lotus. Check into your hotel on arrival. Overnight is in Madurai.
DAY 16 MADURAI - TRICHY
Today you head for central Tamil Nadu and the city of Trichy. The city is steeped in
mystical history as seen at the Singaram Temple which houses the sleeping image of
Vishnu and is a site of major pilgrimage. Overnight is in Trichy.
DAY 17 TRICHY
Today you climb the 400 steps from the entrance to the summit of the Rock Fort Temple.
Take in the vista and soak up the atmosphere of this great city. You spend another night in
Trichy.
DAY 18 TRICHY - CHENNAI
A late morning transfer to the airport for your flight to Chennai is scheduled. On arrival you
will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight is in Chennai.
DAY 19 CHENNAI
Today you stroll along the beautiful beaches and visit the rock temples and frescoes that
abound in this artistic area. Mamallapuram and Kanchipuram are the sites of some of India’
s most ancient temples, a fantastic way to end your sojourn in South India.
DAY 20 CHENNAI - MUMBAI
Today you fly back to Mumbai and spend the afternoon at leisure. Check into the hotel for
your overnight stay.
DAY 21 MUMBAI
Morning transfer to the airport or station for your onward or homeward destination. Tour
ends.
